Sultana Scones

Sultana Scones

  • Makes: 8

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Sunbeam Sultanas
  • 2 cups self raising flour
  • 2 tablespoons caster sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • ½ - ¾ cup milk

Method

1.Place flour and sugar in a bowl. Rub in butter or margarine until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Stir in sultanas.
2.Pour ½ cup of the milk into the mixture. Mix to a soft dough with the back of a knife, adding remaining milk if necessary.
3.Knead on a floured surface until dough is smooth, adding flour as necessary. Pat out to 2cm thick. Cut scones with a 5-6 cm cutter. Arrange close together on lined baking tray. Brush lightly with milk.
4.Bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden on top at 200°C. Serve warm.
