| 1. | Place flour and sugar in a bowl. Rub in butter or margarine until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Stir in sultanas. |
| 2. | Pour ½ cup of the milk into the mixture. Mix to a soft dough with the back of a knife, adding remaining milk if necessary. |
| 3. | Knead on a floured surface until dough is smooth, adding flour as necessary. Pat out to 2cm thick. Cut scones with a 5-6 cm cutter. Arrange close together on lined baking tray. Brush lightly with milk. |
| 4. | Bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden on top at 200°C. Serve warm. |
