Fruit & Nut Honey Slice

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups (180g) Sunbeam Pitted Dates, chopped
  • 9 Tbs (130g) Sunbeam Natural Almonds
  • 9 Tbs (75g) Sunbeam Flaked Almonds
  • 1 sheet frozen shortcrust pastry
  • 1 Tbs sugar
  • 5 Tbs honey
  • 3 Tbs butter
  • 4 Tbs thickened cream
  • 1 tsp ground ginger (optional)

Method

1.Preheat oven to 200°C
2.Line a square slice tray a little smaller than the pastry sheet with baking paper.
3.Place pastry inside, turning up edges. Prick with a fork and bake for 12 minutes at 200°C.
4.Combine remaining ingredients in a saucepan and bring to the boil, stirring.
5.Tip into the prepared pastry and spread evenly. Bake for about 10-15 minutes at 200°C or until bubbling and browned. Leave to cool in the tray then cut into fingers to serve.
