| 1. | Combine prunes, wine and water in a pan and bring to the boil. Remove from heat and add soda. Process mixture until smooth. |
| 2. | Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Fold in flour, prune mixture and banana. |
| 3. | Pour into a greased and lined 20cm round tin and bake for 45 minutes at 180°C. |
| 4. | To make sauce combine all ingredients in a saucepan and stir over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Pour ¼ cup of sauce over pudding and return to the oven for a further 5 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes before turning out. Serve with remaining sauce and ice cream. |
