| 1. | Place pears in a bowl and pour over wine. Microwave for 2 minutes on high and then leave to soak. |
| 2. | Grease and line a 20cm round cake tin. Cream butter and sugar of base and spread on the bottom of the tin. Place pears on top of the mixture to make a pattern. |
| 3. | To make cake cream butter and sugar then beat in the egg. Carefully mix in the flour and milk alternately. Spread over the base and bake for 45-50 minutes at 180°C. |
| 4. | Leave cake to cool in tin, then invert onto a plate. |
